Sometimes timing is everything.
Catherine and Joel had many opportunities to meet each other over the past couple of years. They shared similar friends and interests. Even as they felt themselves drawn to the other, they both recognized that the timing was not right. It wasn’t until they shared the same neighbourhood and were ready to admit their feelings for the other did the moment finally happen. That feeling when you know this is it. The timing is now perfect.
There are so many moments that you can’t rush. Nature takes control and there isn’t anything you can do to rush a perfect moment. As I contemplated Catherine and Joel’s story of falling in love, I knew the story of their engagement session had to be shared as well.
As we emailed about the perfect spot for an engagement session, Catherine and Joel suggested meeting at High Park in Toronto. It is a beautiful location and very close to their home. Finding a time that suited all three of our schedules wasn’t so easy. To complicate matters, we were trying to work around the peak of cherry blossom season. The very warm weather in March hinted that the trees would have an early blooming season. This put a bit of pressure on finding the ideal date. We ended up scheduling a session on the one day it suited everyone. We knew that our date might not coordinate with the blossoms.
The day of our engagement session arrived and with it the best possible timing of capturing the blossoms. As we approached the park we realized we weren’t the only ones coming to visit these stunning trees. Radio announcers were urging Torontonians to flock to the park on this very day as this might be the only chance to see the blossoms. The rain and wind in the weekend forecast would quickly destroy the magical display of pink flowers. So we celebrated the blossoms and Catherine and Joel’s upcoming wedding with hundreds of other people. It just felt right.
C&J – I am beyond excited for the wedding day you are planning. Not only are you celebrating the beginning of your marriage, but your focus on family and friends will make your day so extraordinary. See you in the apple orchard!
